Frequently Asked Questions

"What does your software do?"

Our software programs are designed to help you make better trading and investing decisions by helping you decide when to buy and sell. Our software works with the stock market, individual stocks, Exchange Traded Funds (ETF), futures, commodities, mutual funds, and FOREX currencies.

Pro Analyst and HotlineX are designed for active traders using streaming data, delayed or real-time, that allows them to produce intraday charts and analytics that update every time a security trades

Personal Analyst and Personal Hotline are designed for traders and investors with a longer term horizon. Data for these products is supplied by Total Access, our on demand data service.

All of our products are designed exclusively for the Macintosh.

"Do you plan to make a windows version of your software?"

Never say never, but we have been in business for over 30 years and we are still proud to be Mac only.

"Does your software analyze FOREX currencies or just stocks?"

Actually our data feeds include access to FOREX, stocks, commodities, futures, and mutual funds so our software was designed to chart and analyze all of them.

"Do you offer any foreign stock exchanges or just U.S. data?"

Total Access, our on demand data service, includes Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), London Stock Exchange (LSE), Indian markets (NSE) and the Canadian stock exchange (TSX) in addition to U.S. markets. Our streaming service (available real time or delayed) offers U.S. and Canadian stock and futures markets along with FOREX pairs.

"If I order Personal Analyst and decide to upgrade to Personal Hotline, how much will it cost me to upgrade?"

Upgrading between products is the difference in price between the products.

"What happens to my data when I upgrade? Will I have to start all over?"

No. All of our programs share the same data structure making it extremely easy to upgrade.

"What is the difference between Personal Analyst and Pro Analyst?"

Pro Analyst is the leading real-time product for the Macintosh. Quotes, charts and analytics update continuously, every time a security trades. Pro Analyst provides market quotes for stock, options, currencies and futures, as well as live charts, news, analysis and alerts. It was designed for active traders and the growing base of individual investors that feel the need to monitor the markets while they are open. Pro Analyst can produce charts from tick to minute to hourly to monthly and virtually any time frame in between.

Personal Analyst was designed to be an end-of-day product. It can retrieve intraday prices, but they are snapshots of that day's activity. Personal Analyst can produce daily, weekly and monthly charts. If you work all day but understand the value that quality preparation can bring to the bottom line, then Personal Analyst is for you.

"What data feed do I need for Pro Analyst?"

We offer two intraday feeds. Total Access Plus is our delayed feed and Ultra Access is our real-time feed. Pro Analyst and HotlineX were designed to use either of those feeds. The same feed provides live, streaming quotes for stock, ETF, commodities, futures and FOREX currencies.

"What data feed do I need for Personal Analyst?"

Our end of day products, Personal Analyst and Personal Hotline were designed to use the Total Access data service. Total access is a non-streaming source of price data on stock, ETF, futures, commodities, FOREX currencies and mutual funds. In addition to Canadian and U.S. markets, Total Access works with Australian, London and Indian securities.

"Will your products work in Australia?"

The Total Access service used by our end of day products, Personal Analyst and Personal Hotline has access to data from the ASX as well as the London, Toronto, Vancouver and Indian stocks exchanges along with commodities data from the U.S. and Europe.
